Adult in 3-year-old body ...

That's what I think my daughter is sometimes! She just kills us with some of the things that come out of her mouth at times. About a month ago, about a week before she turned 3, I was really frustrated with her for getting into yet MORE stuff that she knows are off-limits (when do they stop this??! -- I'm telling you, this child is something else!). So I screamed (or it was close to a scream anyway) "WHEN are you going to stop doing no-no things?!" She looked at me and stated simply, "When I grow up." I was so floored, I didn't know what to say.

A few days later, I caught her getting into even more off-limits things (and I'm not joking when I say you've probably never in your life seen a house as child-proofed as ours! And we've only done it on an as-needed basis!! But she finds ways around it!) so I said, "You know, you're going to be 3 in a few days and that's getting bigger and growing up so you don't need to be doing so many no-no things." She sighed and said, "Mommy, let me tell you something. I have to keep doing no-no things because if I grow up too fast then I'll be too old." Just like that! Needless to say, I was speechless yet again.
