Ways for kids to make $ this summer, or anytime
Here are some things I did when I was a kid and made decent money (for a kid) doing them:
I made potholders with those looms (use the 100% cotton loops -- these things last FOREVER -- make great gifts too!). I also did pet sitting, babysitting, lemonade stands, snowcone stands and cookie stands. My brother was a paper boy and also sold papers on the corner. Garage sales are also an option, or let them set up a cookie and lemonade stand while you have a garage sale. Our oldest recently made quite a bit selling cookies at our yard sale. Yard cleaning is another one. There was also a company that did greeting cards etc. that I sold for because kids were allowed to do this. At the time I think I kept $1.50 or $2 for each item I sold, but they've upped it to $3 per item. Olympia Sales Club is what it's called. Here's a link: http://www.olympiasalesclub.com/index.html
Also, if you have a business of your own, you can give them a "commission" for helping you make some sales.
